When Buying Blue Laser Pointers Online, Be Careful What You Search For…

January 14th, 2010

Blue laser pointers at 473nm are some of the most rare and visually spectacular laser pointers that you can buy today. The problem, however, is that they can be far more expensive than their green laser counterparts and tend to be of a poorer quality as well. Because this is some of the newest laser technology around most manufacturers have not really perfected their blue laser pointer designs and therefore the users suffer in the long run.

If you know where to look you can find different varieties of blue lasers, while some sites offer the same models at different prices, other sites will have unique blue laser brands that can’t be found anywhere else. There are a few key things you should look to for to make sure any blue laser you are considering isn’t too cheap or shoddy.

First of all you want to take a look at the price of any laser and then the expected life time, also if there are any type of warranties involved. A lot of times the cheaper blue lasers being sold will not have any type of warranty as the seller is unable to lend much confidence to the blue laser pointer models which they know to be defective after time. So those are a few things you can check off your list right off the bat, before you even consider looking further into a laser pointer. Next you want to look specifically for any models that have caught your eye and see if you can catch a video on youtube about it, or a review or forum where its quality is being debated or tested. This is a great way to learn as much as possible about any blue laser before you buy.

Next is to look at the style of the laser, now this may not affect the blue beams performance, but a lot of the blue lasers out there just plain look like crap. They look silly or have a goofy design, and if your going to spend the money to get a blue laser pointer, don’t you want it to at least look good to? The design preferences will come down to your tastes in lasers so give a few a look, you probably want something that looks high tech and sleek, something that is made durable and built to stand some use.

There are really not more than a few quality blue laser pointers on the web today, so finding the best blue laser can be difficult or easy for you if you know what you’re looking for. The most recently released blue pointers would be the wicked Spyder III and Spyder II which not only have the highest specs and warranty, but also by far the ‘coolest’ design out there. When most blue lasers are silly looking pen shapes, these nicely break through the boring norm and turn up the heat, hell they’re even available in green and red outputs.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you really research the blue laser pointers that are out there and get yourself a cheap laser that performs and looks great. Oh, make sure the lasers are legal also, might be a good idea.
